Can Health Science majors do study abroad at University of County Cork Ireland?
HSC 221 is “Intro to Health Care” that all freshmen in Health Science Studies take. You hear from many guest speakers and research various careers.
Hi Brian, YES! You can study abroad in Ireland - you would discuss this with your academic advisor early on to plan for classes around that.
once you get into junior or senior year, what are some hands on/volunteering options?
Hi Bridget-Jackie is talking a little about that now, actually. We will have the students talk more about this.
Hi Bridget, there are great courses like the one Jackie mentioned where you can learn communication skills in the Simulated Patient lab, You can take an EMT class, and an internship for credit
HSC 397 is also a health science elective as well. It gives you the opportunity to shadow/intern as specific healthcare professional to get an idea of their job
how do the students who are focusing on medical or dental school after QU prepare for testing?

Are all freshman classes at Mount Carmel campus?
Hi Micaela, Yes!
So....in this new world we find ourselves in with COVID19...how disruptive will it be to incoming freshman if unable to move on campus for fall semester (hoping not the case but what if?)
In terms of fall semester we don't know at this point about move in and classes, but we will most likely have to move orientation to an online platform to start.
Thank you! Realize tough question to predict the future
Hi Brian, we also have a very informative COVID-19 page on the QU website, so any information that is decided about Orientation, etc. will be posted there. Hoping everyone is here in August, of course!
Great advice Alyssa!
If anyone is interested in study abroad for a semester, we can chat about that!
