Lunchtime Research Colloquium - De Lencastre Lab
Alex de Lencastre, Associate Professor of Biology and Director of the Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) Graduate Program, leads a discussion on his lab’s research: uncovering novel roles of microRNAs (miRNAs) and other non-coding RNAs in Biology. The de Lencastre lab has identified miRNAs that dramatically affect animal lifespan and stress resistance. Currently, the lab is testing the molecular targets of miRNAs to determine if they may have related functions in models of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease.
